plugin Compound Engineering
plugin Compound Engineering — Technology. attribute: 40+ agents, 30+ slash commands, 35+ skills, open source · category: Open source Claude Code plugin, Every workflow
EveryInc's `compound-engineering-plugin` packages a working method into 40+ agents, 30+ slash commands and 35+ skills, shipped open source and installable on Claude Code, Cursor, Codex. The four commands map the cycle it implements: `/compound-engineering:plan` turns a feature description into a complete GitHub issue after searching the codebase for similar patterns, `work` runs plans in isolated Git worktrees, `review` orchestrates multi-agent code reviews across security, performance, architecture and coherence, and `generate` produces components with their tests and documentation.
What makes the plugin interesting is that it is the executable form of a claim about software economics. Kieran Klaassen and Dan Shipper describe Every running five products (Cora, Spiral, Sparkle, Monologue, Proof) with single-person teams and 100% of the code written by agents. The plugin is how that setup is handed to someone else: the Planifier-Déléguer-Évaluer-Codifier cycle, the 12 subagents parallèles pour review producing P1/P2/P3 findings, the codification step that writes each solution into `docs/solutions/` with YAML frontmatter and updates `CLAUDE.md`.
The GitHub repository frames the payoff as technical debt reduction, each change improving the codebase rather than degrading it. The approach is deliberately tool-agnostic: compatibility is claimed with Droid/Factory alongside the Claude Code integration.
Whether a method that emerged from five single-person products transfers to teams that did not invent it is the question the plugin's distribution poses and does not answer.
