Kishōtenketsu

A four-part narrative structure from East Asian tradition — introduction, development, twist, and reconciliation — that builds without relying on conflict. It is invoked as a model for structuring explanation or design, offering an alternative to problem-solution framing when presenting ideas.

Origin

A classical four-act narrative structure rooted in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean poetry and storytelling (qǐ-chéng-zhuǎn-hé).
