Google Cloud — Organization. role: Publisher of the report with the DORA team; the delta team signs off on the economic analysis · sector: Cloud / DevOps Research
Google Cloud publishes the DORA research. Rapport DORA 2025, announced on 23 September 2025, rests on nearly 5,000 surveys and more than 100 hours of qualitative research and lands on one thesis: AI is an amplifier. 90% of respondents use at least one AI platform and over 80% say it raises their productivity, yet the report holds that AI intensifies the practices already in place rather than repairing a dysfunctional team. Seven archetypes run from foundational challenges to harmonious high achievers.
The April 2026 follow-up, written by the DORA and delta teams (delta signs the economic analysis), is a 60-page ROI framework published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 with an interactive calculator. Its new concept is the J-Curve of AI value realization: a temporary trough of learning curve, verification tax and pipeline adaptation, to be budgeted before growth arrives. The sample run (500 FTE, $176k salary, 12.5% time saved per developer) gives $11.6M of value against $8.4M invested, 39% ROI, 8-month payback. The authors write that they strongly recommend organizations do not adopt a headcount-reduction strategy.
That same report sets a 727% three-year ROI among Google Cloud AI customers beside its own 12.5% working assumption. Beyond the reports, the company is present as infrastructure: S3NS, the Thales-Google Cloud joint venture qualified SecNumCloud 3.2 in December 2025, hosts AG2R LA MONDIALE's Almia platform, and SFEIR positions itself as partner to both Google Cloud and Anthropic.
